On Friday 12th June 2015 we took two teams to North Yorkshire to take on the challenge of the Yorkshire 3 peaks in order to raise money for the Huddersfield Town Foundation charity. We set off to North Yorkshire at 04:45am to arrive for registration at 07:00am in Horton in Ribblesdale. We set off at 07:30am in the sunshine guided by Kuta Outdoors and we tackled the first peak of Pen-Y Ghent and then on to Ribblehead where the second peak of Whernside waited us. From the top of Whernside we enjoyed views all the way to the East coast while working our way down the other side and taking in the site of the third peak of Ingleborough.
We had a deadline of twelve hours to complete the challenge of the 3 peaks which is a distance of 24.5 miles and the Eurolink teams came in at just under Eleven hours. Without the guidance of Kuta Outdoors and the invaluable support of the Town Foundation providing us with much needed refreshments along the way this would not have been achievable. We aimed to raise £2000 for the Town Foundation charity and we managed to exceed that thanks to the support of all our sponsors.
These fundraising events help to provided a unique opportunity for the children, their siblings and families in our community to enjoy a free of charge, rare treat, which many seldom have the chance to enjoy. They are taken on days out that offer an experience and memories, which wouldn’t have been possible without the financial backing raised through initiatives like this.
A great big thank you goes out to all who sponsored us and thank you to all our staff who took part in the challenge.
Well done Team Eurolink!!!
